Pink Candy Hair Tri-fold Shutter Card

It's wednesday again already - my how the days fly by!  On wednesdays each week I spotlight one of my projects on the Whimsical Ink Sorority (WIS) Blog for Queen Kat Designs (QKD).  I also like to share my creations with my regular blog visitors on here.

Every month QKD release brand new stamps and myself and the other members of the Design Team are lucky enough to get to play and create examples with them to show what can be done.  I got the lovely 'Pink Candy Hair' Mermaid for this week and I will be showcasing another new stamp next week.

As you can see from the first picture I decided to create a Tri-fold Shutter Card for a change and used some pretty papers with large flowers which I've had in my stash for a while.  There is a tutorial for shutter cards on the Splitcoast Stampers website if you'd like to have a go at creating one yourself.

After creating and decorating the shutter card with the papers, I coloured the image with ProMarkers and Copics, cut it out with an oval nestabilities die then attached this to a pink layer cut with a slightly larger scalloped oval nestie.  I sprinkled Glamour Dust over Glossy Accents which was added to the starfish on the coral, the ornaments in her hair and on flowers on her tail.  Sadly the sparkle doesn't show up too well on the picture.  The sentiments are from a set by QKD.   This second picture shows the card from a slightly different angle, giving you a better view of the lovely Pink Candy Hair image.

Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you've enjoyed seeing my project, I'll be back next wednesday with a creation showcasing another new stamp released for April.  The new stamps are availble in the QKD Store from today.
