Purple Birthday

Today's project is one of the cards I made recently using up some backgrounds, toppers and elements I'd created a while back whilst playing with inks, paints, stamps and stencils.

I loved this panel when I'd finished it but wasn't exactly sure how I wanted to turn it into a card.  I added it over a slightly larger layer of black card then tied around some twine and attached a flower embellishment.  I decided not to add a sentiment to the front so that the card would work for many different occasions.

Materials and tools used :

Distress Inks - Wilted Violet, Shaded Lilac, Blue Print Sketch
Rebecca Baer 'Secret Garden' stencil
Penny Black Slapstick Cling stamp 'Full Bloom'
Black Archival ink
Faber Castell Glass Bead Glitter Gel applied through a Stampers Anonymous stencil
Crafters Companion Spray and Shine to seal the DIs
Black cardstock
Lilac cotton twine
SU! 'Flower Shop' stamp set and matching punch for the flower embellishment

Here's a close up shot of the GBGG

I hope you've enjoyed seeing today's project, thanks so much for visiting my little piece of Blogland, I do appreciate each and everyone of you, particularly those of you who take the time to leave me a comment.  I'm always thrilled to see I have comments on my posts to read and publish.

Hope to see you here again soon when I share more of my makes.

Happy Anniversary

Well, today, a couple of my lovely pals celebrate a great milestone in their lives, it's a special Wedding Anniversary for them, Congratulations Kathy and Steve.

Happy Anniversary Kathy and Steve, hope you enjoy your very special day.

To mark this occasion I created a special card for my pals and it's their card which is the project I'm sharing with you all today.

Please bear with me as I'm transitioning to a new laptop and trying to get my usual photo editing software installed and running.  Still have some teething problems to iron out so that I can get it working and back to the quality of pix I usually post.  I have a feeling the problems are due to now having Windows 10 running and it's possible the old software doesn't work with the new operating system, I may have to upgrade.

For the background of my card, I tried out the - new to me - 'Masterboard technique'.  I've seen a couple of demonstrations recently, one of which was by my lovely crafting pal Lauren during her appearance on HOCHANDA.  I just had to have a go for myself.

I didn't have a plan when I started the master board, but as one of the recipients of the card loves purple and the other is a fan of red, I wanted to incorporate both of these colours.  I have to say I was really pleased with how it turned out in the end, there was a period during it's creation when I was sure it would be consigned to the bin !

Supplies and tools used :

PaperArtsey Fresco paints - Squid Ink, Granny Smith, Cherry Red, Dolly Mix, Snowflake
Brayer
Crafty Individuals 'Crowned Bunnies' stamp
Lennie Pujol 'Doodle Drops' stamp set
Diana Wakely 'Clearly Collaged Hearts'
Gansai Tambi Starry Colours paints
Stampers Anonymous 'Ledger Script' CMS241
SU! Blackberry Bliss ink

I still have the rest of the master board background left, I'm sure you'll be seeing more of it in other projects soon.

Thanks for dropping by today to see my latest project, hope you like it.

Til your next visit.... have a crafty time

Welcoming a New 'Mrs'

Good morning and welcome to Sunday.  As I promised in my post yesterday, today I'm sharing details of a gift I created for the Bride who's wedding I attended recently.

I'm not a jewellery maker or beader, but I'll try my hand at most crafting, so this is my first venture into making a gift with beads.

I wanted to create something for the new 'Mrs Mackeen' to be given to her at breakfast the day after the wedding.  This is what I came up with, using stretchy beading thread and a scrap of organza ribbon.

I'm told she was 'delighted' with her gift and that made me happy - easily pleased that's me Ha Ha

Thanks for dropping by to see my project today, I've been busy at my 'table of craftiness' and have a few more projects to share with you over the coming days.

Hugs

Wedding Bells

I've had quite a busy time recently.  One of the things I've done since I posted on here last was attend a lovely wedding last week when the son of a couple of my dear friends wed the love of his life.  I felt very privileged to have been invited to their special day and it was a beautiful day, even the weather behaved which provided lots of great photo opportunities.

I thought the project I'd share with you today is the card I made for the 'Happy Couple'.  It's a little different to the cards I've been creating recently, but I was pleased with it once finished and I hope the Bride and Groom liked it too.

I used a few new/un-used items from my stash to create the card :

* Centura Pearl card
* Sizzix A4 embossing folder
* Tim Holtz 'Scribbes and Splat' die set
* Joanna Sheen Die-Lacy 'Grace Lace' border die

The embossed background was created using the embossing folder which was included as a free gift with the Sizzix Big Shot Plus I was lucky enough to receive as a birthday gift earlier in the year.

Other materials and tools used :

* SU! Sassy Salutations sentiment stamp
* SU! Soft Suede ink
* Tiny pearls from my stash

There is another item I created for the wedding, I'll share details of that with you tomorrow.

Thanks for dropping by to see today's project, hope you enjoyed your visit.

Hugs
