I'm Back - How Time Flies!!!
Hi Folks! Did ya miss me? Of course you didn't! I left a few projects programmed in whilst I was away for three weeks in sunny Florida so you'd all have something to see when you visited and you probably didn't realise I was away on my holidays. I do hope you've enjoyed them all and thanks so much to the kind readers who've left me such lovely comments.
Today's card is one I made while in Florida. My lovely crafting buddy Kathy and her hubby were there at the same time and we managed to squeeze in a few crafting shopping trips and some lovely crafting time together. Kathy borrowed an extra table from her neighbour so we had somewhere to work and we just had a ball. I used the 'post-it' technique, the one where you mask off a lot of the base card with post-its leaving the shape you want exposed. Then using Distress Inks, ink up the exposed area before removing the post-its to reveal a lovely crisp-edged block of colour. I used one of the the stamps from the 'Time Flies' set of stamps by Recollects which I bought on holiday to stamp over the coloured panel with black Memento ink. I overstamped with a Hampton Arts glue pad and added Glamour Dust glitter for added 'bling'. All the stamps in the set are yummy and I'm sure you'll get to see all of them on future projects before too long.
Here's another couple of cards I made whilst at Kathy's using the same technique and a couple of stamps from Inkadinkado which I also bought there. The trellis edging was created with a Martha Stewart punch bought for a bargain price in Michaels. The Inkadinkado stamp sets were a bargain at $12.99 for a pack of two sheets of stamps, far too much of a bargain not to get them!
The final card I'm sharing with you today was also made when I was at Kathy's as my entry for the Craft Mad and Loving It sketchie challenge a couple of weeks ago. The image is by Swanky Stamps under their 'Cat's Pajamas' label.
I had vowed not to buy any new Christmas stamps this year as I already have so many in my stash, however I just couldn't resist these lovelies! The fancy edging was created using an 'all round the page' set of Martha Stewart punches which once again I got in Michaels for a fantastic price. Such a pity they weigh so much, I could only fit a couple into my suitcase.
I'll share a few of my holiday snaps over the next few days, don't want to bore you so will just pick out the hightlights!
Thanks for dropping by today I missed you all - Happy Crafting !

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #38 - Spooky Goings On!
The new challenge over on I ♥ Promarkers this week is sponsored by Digi Doodle Shop and the theme is "Spooky Goings On".
I've used this gorgeous 'Mummy Mouse' from Digi Doodle Shop for my DT project this week. I don't know if it's just me, but the little mousie reminds me so much of the main character in the TV adds for Compare the Meerkats.com!
I coloured the image with Promarkers and added Glossy Accents on the pumpkin, to give it a little extra dimension, before cutting it out with a classic rectangle nestie.
The bottom layer was created by embossing a piece of white card with one of the Tim Holtz embossing folders, then rubbing Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink all over to highlight the design, the orange/copper layer was embossed with the Cuttlebug Pumpkins folder. I added Chipped Sapphire DI around the edges of the image layer while the die was still in place, to give it a sort of frame around the edge. The gorgeous orange ribbon, bats and 'Boo' buttons I got from the craft show at Westpoint recently.
I hope you'll enter the challenge this week, Digi Doodle Shop are sponsoring the prize. Just create a new project and add a direct link to the project on your blog over on the I ♥ Promakers Challenge blog and one lucky winner will be randomly selected. To be eligible for the prize draw, you must colour your image with Promarkers. It's always fun to hop along to all your blogs to check out the projects, I love it!

Wynneth' WIS Kit Challenge week 4 - shoes
It's the last Queen Kat Blog Hop of October and my last challenge to use only the stamps in the September WIS kit to create my projects. This week our inspiration is shoes - any shoes you like, but to get the creative juices flowing, we've got this picture of the most yummy shoes to help - aren't they divine? Such a shame I wouldn't be able to walk in them, but I can still dream!!
My weekly projects are posted on the Whimsical Ink Sorority blog as part of the hop, as well as on here. If you've been hopping along with us this month, you will know that rather than using October new release stamps, I set myself the challenge of using last month's WIS Kit to create a completely different project each week, using various techniques and styles. Today's project is the last of them and the inspiration I took from the picture was to use the lovely colour combo of pink, yellow and black - a great combination.
Once again I've used the main image from the Kit and this time coloured it in pastel shades of yellow and pink, with touches of black. I also added pink Stickles to the bubbles in the background.
The backing paper was a magazine freebie and I found the scrap of yellow paper in my stash which I paired up with a length of yellow ribbon and added a matching bow. I also found these three sweet little yellow buttons with the ribbon. which I thought were a lovely finishing touch. I stamped the sentiment and punched the words out individually, adding more of the pink Stickles around the edges.
I so hope that you've enjoyed the personal challenges I set myself this month, I've had a bundle of fun and stretched my creative boundaries just a little, which is always good to do. Here's a piccie of all the projects together, just as a reminder.
Til next time - Happy Crafting!

Just Cute Bears Challenge #38 - sketch
I'm sharing my Just Cute Bears DT card with you here today. For challenge #38 this week we have a lovely sketch by Helen to work with. To enter and have a chance to win the weekly prize, just create a project, incorporating a teddy in your design and add a direct link to your blog posting of the card on the Just Cute Bears Challenge Blog.
I just love this 'Teddy with Bouquet' by Lili of the Valley, so useful and appropriate for many occasions.
I coloured the image with a mixture of Copics and Promarkers and cut it out with a petite scallops circle nestabilities die. The filigree layer in the background was cut with the Lotus Shapeabilities by Spellbinder die from white card. The blue layer (which is actually Almost Amethyst by SU! but looks blue in the piccie!) was embossed with a Cuttlebug roses embossing folder and the ribbon was from my stash. Background paper is from the Papermania Henbury Lane collection and the sentiment from a set by Hero Arts and cut out using a petite scallop oval nesties die. I didn't add any flowers, pearls or gems as I felt the paper was too pretty to cover up any more! The sentiment could be appropriate for many different occasions so a great one to keep in stock.
I do hope you'll submit an entry to the challenge this week, it's so nice to visit all the blogs to check out the entries and see all your projects.

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #37 - Autumn
There's a new challenge up today over on the I ♥ Promarkers Challenge bloggy. The theme for Challenge #36 is Autumn - so get out all those lovely rich shades of green, gold and red for your projects this week. This week's prize is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp, who wouldn't want to win $15 to spend in their yummy shop - I know I would!!.
The images and sentiments on my DT card are from a little set by Queen Kat Designs that I thought was just perfect for this challenge.
I had all these autumnal shades of card in my stash and decided to use the Martha Stewart branches border punch to create some tree-like punched layers. The large leaf from the set I stamped down the righthand side of the base layer and stamped the main branch image on to ivory card using Rich Cocoa Memento ink before colouring with Promarkers. The main image was then cut out using a classic rectangle nestie and the sentiments with a tag nestie and sparkly brads attached to each end of both sentiments.
I look forward to seeing your projects for this week's challenge, come on get those PM's out and get creating - you know you want to!! Just link your entry on the ILPM challenge blog so we can pop over and check out your work.
Have Fun!

Wynneth' WIS Kit Challenge week 3 - colour theme
As it's Tuesday, it's the Queen Kat blog hop. My card is posted on the Whimsical Ink Sorority Blog as well as on here as part of the Hop. If you'd like to take part, start here and follow the links.
This week we are working with a colour theme - CHOCOLATE (yum!) GINGER, TAUPE and CRANBERRY. What a luscious combination this is, almost guaranteed to get your mouth watering!
If you've hopped along with us over the past couple of weeks, you will already know that rather than use October new release stamps, I'm focussing on last month's WIS Kit and each week through the month I'm sharing with you a project using different techniques or styles and using only the stamps in the Kit. So far, I've used the main image from the kit in my projects, today I decided to use just one of the senitments to create a very different style of card.
I took card in all the shades of this week's theme and using a set of nestabilities Beaded Circles dies, created layers in different sizes. I layered them up and added a red flower which I dusted with Platinum Stickles on the tips. I cut the sentiment out with a small scalloped circle nestie and added these lovely red half beads - they are available in the QKD Store if you'd like to get your hands on some for your stash!
Sometimes, it's just really nice to create a project in a completely different style and this was fun and fast to make.
Til I see you again - Happy Crafting !

Oh Christmas Tree !
Today's card is one I created really quickly to enter into a recent challenge over in the Craft Mad and Loving it group on Craftbubble.
The snowflake layer was created using a Marianne Designs cut and emboss folder which I recently bought - I have to say I'm very pleased with the results and the tiny snowflakes 'waste'will be used on future projects!
I layered the snowflake panel on to a piece of lovely gold pearl card and stamped the christmas tree with Brilliance gold ink. After cutting out the tree I attached it with Pinflair glue and added some Stardust Stikles all over (although it isn't too clear on the piccie). The sentiment was from the same set as the tree and which is called 'Festive Village' by Creative Impressions. Finally I cut the sentiment out with a scalloped oval nestie and attached with Pinflair.
Thanks for dropping by today, hope you are having a great day.
Happy Crafting!

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #36 - Cupcakes!
Come on!! get those Cupcakes out - it's time to play along with the I ♥ Promarkers challenge this week. The theme for Challenge #37 is Cupcakes and our sponsor is Diecut Dreams so get rummageing through your stash and create a project using this week's theme - someone's got to be the lucky winner !
The stamp set I used to create my DT card for this week is 'Cupcake' by Queen Kat Designs - how perfect is that eh?
I coloured the image with Promarkers and added touches of Spica Glitter Pen and Glossy Accents. I love the Happy Cupcake sentiment and the little cupcake image is just soooo... cute!
The base layer is Stamping Up! Certainly Celery, the patterned panel is from the DCWV Pocket Full of Posies paper pack and the green organza ribbon is from my stash. I chose a very simple layout for today's card, I thought there was enough going on with the pretty image and the DCWV paper, I didn't even use a nestie to cut the image out, and you know how much I love my nesties!!
I hope you've enjoyed seeing my card today and that you'll be entering the challenge this week, just hop over to the I ♥ Promarkers Challenge blog, check out the details and add a link to your blog so the team can hop over and see the project you are entering for the challenge. Don't forget it must be a new creation and you must use Promarkers to colour it with. Good Luck everyone!

Wynneth' WIS Kit Challenge week 2 - another sketch
It's tuesday so the Queen Kat blog hop is happening today. This month, rather than using new release stamps, I am focusing on September's WIS kit and creating a new project every week. Each project will have a new technique or style as I wanted to demonstrate just how versatile these WIS kits can be and that you can use all or just part of the kit in order to create a great project. My project is posted up on the Whimsical Ink Sorority blog as part of the Hop, start here if you'd like to do the hop yourself.
For today's card I used the main image from the WIS kit and a watercolour technique using Distress Inks. I stamped the image onto watercolour paper using Walnut Stain DI and, while the ink was still wet, used a water brush to drag in some of the colour and blur the sharp outline in places. You have to work quickly as the ink soaks into the paper really fast. I also added a little extra ink in places to create more shading.
I used a DL size base card in ivory and cut a layer from kraft card which I stamped with the swirl stamp from the kit in a random pattern using Pumice Stone DI.
I wrapped a length of this luscious chocolate brown and cream ribbon from Stampin' Up! around the kraft layer and tied in a knot at the front before attaching it to the base card. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap of the ivory card and glued into place before the brown half pearls were added in the corners.
This is a very quick and easy way to colour an image and great if you are pressed for time.
Next Tuesday I'll be sharing another project with you using the WIS kit with a different technique or style, til then - Happy Crafting!

Just Cute Bears Challenge #37 - Baby Card
Welcome to another Sunday on my little bloggy and as it's Sunday, that means there's a new Just Cute Bears Challenge this week. Challenge #37 is to create a baby card, with the option of including gingham and ribbon.
For my DT card, I selected this adorable teddy with his blankie from Crafters' Companion. I used lots of pink in my papers and coloured the image with Copics and Promarkers. The starry circle was cut with a Marianne Designs die and the plain pink is the other side of the stripey paper. I attached a tiny metal soother(dummy) with a length of pink satin ribbon and the pink rosebuds were from my stash.
A very simple layout and I deliberately didn't add a sentiment to the front of the card as I thought it would work as a new baby card, for a christening or even baby's first birthday with the appropriate wording inside.
I hope you've enjoyed your visit here today, I'd love to see your entry for the JCB challenge and pay a visit to your blog.

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #35 - Think Pink!
Good morning lovely reader, as it's wednesday, there's a new challenge on the I ♥ Promarkers challenge blog. This week the prize is sponsored by Joanna Sheen and the theme is 'Think Pink'
Many of us today are affected in some way by Breast Cancer - either as a suffer ourselves or watching family members or friends battling this cruel disease. It is so important that we all check ourselves regularly for lumps, bumps and changes in our bodies and have anything suspicious checked out by a doctor without delay.
My DT card for this week's challenge is created in tribute to all those affected and I felt this Inky Impressions stamp was just perfect for the 'Think Pink' theme.
I coloured the image with Promarkers, cut her out and attached her over a layer cut with the largest of the nestabilities Beaded Circle die set, applying Spun Sugar Distress Ink whilst the die was still in place. The background paper is a magazine freebie and I added a square of pink card which was embossed with tiny hearts using a Cutlebug embossing folder (although hardly any of the hearts are actually visible!). I added some Glossy Accents to the pink ribbon and her hairband and a few pink gems which I had in my stash.
Please do enter the challenge this week - who wouldn't love a £10 voucher to spend in Joanna's online shop? - myself and the other DT members love to visit your blogs to check out your work !
Til I see you next time - Happy Crafting !

Wynneth' WIS Kit Challenge week 1 - sketch
Well, it's the first tuesday in October and time for the weekly Queen Kat Designs blog hop. Each week I post my project on the Whimsical Ink Sorority blog as part of the Hop, as well as on here.
I'm doing my WIS projects a little differently this month, the rest of the DT are using the new October release stamps, but I thought I would focus on last month's WIS Kit and I've challenged myself to create a different project for every week during October, using only the stamps from the kit, following sketches and themes as best I can. Every week there'll be different techniques and styles which I hope will provide inspiration for just how versatile these WIS kits can be.
I decided to create a half-easel card for a change and coloured the main image from the kit with Copics and Promarkers. Isn't she just gorgeous? There's Glossy Accents on the bubbles, sea urchins, jellyfish and gate and a little Spica Glitter Pen on her tail and hair for extra bling. The sentiment, sea urchins and background swirls are also stamps from the kit and I attached a second set of urchins with silicone glue to act as the 'stop' for the easel.
Nice to have you visiting today, if you would like to do the QKD Hop just start here and follow the links - have fun!
Til next Tuesday when I'll have my second WIS kit creation to share with you - Happy Crafting!
