Welcome to WIS Wednesday again! I'm so pleased you dropped by today.
As you may know, every wednesday I spotlight one of my projects on the Whimsical Ink Sorority blog for Queen Kat Designs. For these projects I use some of the totally awesome mermaid and fairy stamps designed by the talented Maigan Lynn and sold in the QKD Store.
For today's project, I used the newly released 'Sadie's Victory' stamp - isn't she just fabulous?!! I decided to colour her in monochrome using an extensive pallet of grey ProMarkers. After her 'Victory' I think Sadie would want to show off some of the 'goodies' from that huge treasure chest she is sitting on, so I added lots of tiny pearls to her hair.
When it came to creating a background for the card, I thought I'd have a play with some of my stock of Grungepaper. I cut a piece of the GP in a sort of freehand jigsaw style, coloured each piece with different Tim Holtz Distress Inks, then 'stitched' all the pieces back together with metal staples. I layered this on to the base layer of dark grey pearl paper, attached three 'diamonds' at the bottom left and tied some leather thonging around the layer. The image was cut out using a nestabilities die and attached to a layer cut from mat silver card using a slightly larger die from the same set.
I hope you've enjoyed your visit - there are always great inspirational projects on the WIS blog from all of us on the Design Team if you care to hop over there, I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

BTW I often wonder if my visitors like the way I describe in full how I create my projects or if you would prefer it if I just showed a picture and listed the materials I used. I'd love to hear what you think, please let me know in a comment - thanks !
