New Girl on The Block!

Happy Monday to you, I hope you have enjoyed a lovely Easter holiday, I had a great time with family and even indulged in a little chocolate egg!!

As it is monday today, we are having fun on our Queen Kat Designs Blog Hop.  I hope you arrived here from Penny's blog - just hop back to the start on the QKD blog if not, that way you won't miss any of the fabulous creations the DT have been busy with this week.

A brand new month starts this week and that means new stamps are being released - whoo...hoooo !  Today I am introducing the abulously gorgeous 'Pink Candy Hair' mermaid - isn't she a sweetie?  I can't tell you how much fun I had playing with her.
The DT are working with the sketch on the left this week and, spookily enough when I went recently to the NEC craft show, I found this awesome ribbon with crystal droppers which I just had to have!  Imagine my surprise and joy when I saw the sketch for this week and the ribbon turned out to be perfect to use on my creation for today's Hop.
I coloured this awesome beauty with Copics and ProMarkers and then used a new product I bought at the NEC show.  It's called 'Diamond Dust' and gives an amazing effect, much more spectacular than glitter - it looks like tiny diamond chips.  I used some on the silk flowers and also on the coral arch that my mermaid is leaning on.  I wanted to create realistic looking coral and I think this did the trick.  It is such a shame that it doesn't show up too well on the picture, in real life it has the most amazing texture and looks remarkably like coral.

The background papers were in my stash and I added small pink brads to the centres of the flowers.  The silver half beads along the ribbon can be found in the QKD Store and I'm sure you'll want to grab this lovely girl for your stamp stash - she'll be in the Store from wednesday.  There is always great craft stash in the Store and it's well worth browsing around, you never know what bargains you might just pick up!

I'm now sending you hopping along on your way, next stop is Kimme's blog, just wait til you see what she has created to share with you today - I know you won't be disappointed!  Don't forget tomorrow's Hop when the rest of the DT will be sharing their creations with more new stamps.  I do hope you'll join me and the gang next monday when we'll be Hopping again.  Thanks in advance for any comments you might care to leave, everyone loves receiving feedback.
