I recently discovered that a new challenge blog has started up called Lovely hAnglar Only Challenge Blog. The first challenge is to create a project, using hAnglar & stAnglar stamps with the colour combo of pink and green. Now that hAnglar & stAnglar are selling their stamps in the UK via Ebay, I have been able to add a few to my stamp stash.
I created this card as a birthday card for my brother's granddaughter who is four years old this month. I thought this adorable H&S sitting girl was just perfect and Emily loves anything pink, so the colour theme for this challenge is also perfect!
I coloured her with my Copics and ProMarkers then cut her out. For the background I used two of the sheets from a DCWV Nana's Kitchen paper pad I recently bought from Dunelm, who were selling them at half price - bargain! From the green I created the base layer and also cut the circle of stars using a Marianne Designs die set. I am really loving all the MD dies as they cut and emboss so well in my Cuttlebug. The pink circular layer was cut with a nestabilities scallop circle die and then the green stars layer attached over the top using silicon glue to give it a little dimension. I punched a strip of the pink with my Martha Stewart lacy hearts border punch, a length of cream lace attached over the top, then attached horizontally for the image to 'sit' on. Three ivory silk flowers and a stamped sentiment completed the layout.
I do hope Emily likes it! Thanks for visiting today, let me know what you think of this card, it's great to get feedback :o)
