I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #23

Today's card is my DT project for this week's I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #23.  This week the prize is sponsored by I Did it Creations and we have a great sketch to work with.  Check out the challenge blog here for all the details.  I hope you'll enter this week, I love to visit the blogs of the entrants and check out all their fantastic creations.

For my card I decided to use this adorable puppy image from I Did it Creations.  It reminds me of my lovely little dog Tilly - she is a real Princess and loves to drape herself on a cushion like this!

I created a background on the base card using some pale pink chalk ink and a small paw print stamp that I have had in my stamp stash forever! - I apologise but I don't know the manufacturer.  The image is coloured with Promarkers and Glossy Accents added to the flowers, headband and the dog's eyes, nose and tongue.  All the circular layers - both plain and scalloped - were cut with various nestabilities dies and I also embossed two of the layers in my cuttlebug with embossing folders.

The lacy heart border was cut using a Martha Stewart border punch and the pink ribbon was in my stash.  Finally, I printed the Puppy Love sentiment on my PC and added Stardust Stickles around the edges of all the circular layers and around the sentiment.

I look forward to having the chance to see your projects on the I ♥ Promarkers Challenge Blog this week!

I ♥ Promarkers Challenge #21 - Stripes

Today it's the start of a new challenge over on I ♥ Promarkers.  This week is challenge #21 which is sponsored by Letraset and we are asked to use stripes on our projects.

This week you are free to use your own choice of image, layout and colours, just make sure you have some stripes on your project somewhere!

For my DT card I decided to use some stripey papers in these lovely shades of pink and brown - one of my all time favourite colour combos.  The edging strips were punched with a Martha Stewart border punch (the darker strip is actually a brown/bronze pearly card, but for some reason it looks black on the picture).

This is a magnolia stamp from Art Cure which I've had since I first began working with rubber stamps.  It makes a great backround but is also quite striking given 'centre stage' on a card. The image was coloured (of course) with Promarkers and cut out, leaving a tiny white border all around, then attached with silicone glue.  The oval mattes were actually left over from another card I created recently, so I was very pleased to be able to use up some of the bits and pieces off my desk!

I hope you've enjoyed your visit to my blog today, I really enjoy writing it and appreciate all my visitors taking the time to drop by.  Do have a go at this week's challenge, you've got nothing to lose and you might just be the lucky winner of the great prize from Letraset this week - someone has to win!!

I ♥ ProMarkers Challenge #18

This week's challenge over on the I ♥ ProMarkers blog is sponsored by Lilac Lemon Designs and there's a great sketch to work with, so I hope you'll join in with our challenge this week.

I decided to use this vintage stamp for my DT card for Challege #18, coloured with ProMarkers and touches of purple Spica Glitter Pen added.  This great paper is from a pack from Graphicus which I have had in my stash for some time.  Are you like me and like to hold on to your 'best' papers and not use them?  I'm so bad at making myself use up the nicest papers, just like to keep them and look at them from time to time!

The lacy edging was cut with one of my Martha Stewart Deep Border Punches, with Shabby Shutters Distress Ink sponged on the edges.  I cut the main image out with a nestabilities deckle edge rectangle die and again sponged round the edges with Shabby Shutters DI.  I think the feather in the hat is the perfect finishing touch, don't you agree?

I'd love to see your creations, why not enter this week's challenge, you might just be the lucky winner of this week's prize!  Get the full details of the challenge and link your creation via Mr Linky on the blog, I'll pop along to see it and leave you a comment if you do - I promise!
