Happy 13th Birthday

Happy Sunday morning dear readers, I don't know what it's like where you are, but after a beautiful warm and sunny day yesterday, it is dull and raining down here in Cornwall today and there's a definite chill in the air.  Oh well, I guess many people have finished their holidays and are back home ready for the children to start back to school next week.  Summer has moved into Autumn and already some of the trees are changing colour.

Today's card is my entry for the sketchie challenge this week for the Craft Mad and Loving It group over on Craftbubble.  The twist to go with the sketch this week is 'zig zag' and so I decided to make this tri-fold shutter card so that the whole card is a zig zag.

Here's a more side-on view which shows the shape a little more clearly and also the inside elements of the card.  They are so easy to make and yet have a lot of impact.  There is a tutorial for this type of card on the Split Coast Stampers site - in their resources section - if you'd like to have a go at making one yourself.  The best thing about them is that they fold down and fit into a C6 envelope.

This is the card I've made for my eldest grandson's thirteenth birthday next week.  I do hope he likes it!  I used this great Sugar Nellie image and coloured him with a mixture of Copics and Promarkers.  There's Stormy Skies Distress Inks added around the edges of the image layer and the papers were magazine freebies.  I created the sentiment and the number 13 on my computer and also added a little Glossy Accents to the headlight and wing mirrors on the scooter.

Til next time - Happy Crafting !
