Tatsu & Cho

Queen Kat Designs have a fabulous blog hop running today, why not pop over and take part in the fun and be inspired by all the creations of the DT.  The hops normally run on Wednesdays, but as this Wednesday is the Thanksgiving holiday in the USA, the hop is running a day earlier.

Although I am not yet completely up and running well enough to be a part of the hop, I have been busy creating with these totally awesome stamps from QKD.  I decided to make something a little different with this image called Tatsu & Cho.  I created a shadow box card to showcase this little beauty, although it is difficult to photograph it in a way that shows the three-dimensional properties of the card.  I've added two pictures taken from different angles to try and show this a little more clearly.

Her background is made from a piece of shimmering irridescent paper, which I embossed with the snowstorm Cuttlebug embossing folder as I think it looks like bubbles in water.  I coloured her with ProMarkers and added some Spica glitter pen on her eyes, pendant and hair clip.  The aperture in the front of the card was cut with a scalloped oval nestabilities die and I then used the same size die and one slightly larger, to create a frame for the front of the apperture.  I used the Martha Stewart frond punch to create some 'seaweed' from green card and stuck this just behind the apperture to frame the image inside.  I also punched some fronds from the green irridescent paper and then some shell shapes and flowers from a different colour paper.  Small pearls in blue and cream on the flowers and shells and clear gems on her pendant, hair slide and navel just added the finishing touch to the front of this shadow box card.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing my creation today, why not hop on over to the QKD blog to see what other members of the DT have created for you. You can also find the stamps I have used in my project in the QKD store if you'd like to get your hands on these delightful mermaids.   There are so many gorgeous stamps to choose from, you may be like me and want them all!  There are free stamps on offer until the end of november so even more reason to hurry over to the store.
