Whilst we are probably all really fed up with christmas cards and themed projects by now, I just have one more to share with you today. For the Let's Get Stamping weekly challenge for 19 December over on Craftbubble, we were asked to create a tree bauble, including stamping somewhere on our project. I decided to use the adorable Holly Christmas Mermaid from Queen Kat Designs stamps, colouring her in shades of blue.
This first picture was taken fairly close up so that you can see the detail on the beautiful Holly.
I coloured her with ProMarkers and added a little Spica glitter pen in clear, blue and black on various parts of the image. I used Spellbinder nestabilities labels six set of dies, with the two largest sizes nested inside each other to create a frame and I cut three frames from silver cardstock. I joined the three frames at the sides to create a triangular 3D bauble, then used a smaller die to cut out two of the images of Holly before I coloured them in. I then used silver crochet thread to create a tassle for the bottom and encased a single thread between the two images, before sticking them together, to suspend the image in the centre of the bauble. I then added more of the same thread to the tops of the three frames to create the hanger for attaching to the tree. Finally, I added small snowflakes to embellish the frames. The central image hangs freely and swings around in any slight movement of air.
This second picture was taken from a slightly different angle to show the 3D aspects of the bauble more clearly.
Thank you so much for visiting to view my creation today, I hope you enjoyed your stay! I'd love to read your comment if you care to leave one.
